There were many who believed – Elfsborg ex-coach Magnus Haglund will return to the team, this time as manager. The contract is for four years.
Prior Speculation pointed out Magnus Haglund as a very plausible replacement for Klas Ingesson, and so it was. January Mian and Peter Wettergren remain as assistant coach.
– Elfsborg do have a huge place in my heart for the earlier period, combined with late what was happening so it was almost a calling to come back I had much contact with Klas (Ingesson) at the end and was basically prompted by Klas take this job, said Magnus Haglund at the press conference.
Haglund trained Elfsborg in eight seasons and led the team to the SM gold in 2006. Now he returns to Boras after three seasons in the Norwegian Lillestrom.
He said at the press
– This job had been exciting from all angles yet but there will be another dimension to it, which is clearly emotional. We have agreed on a contract for four years, says Haglund.
He also said that he would like to see John Smith stays in the team.
