Already see Sweden as the semifinals clear – Aftonbladet

Helsinki. Junior crowns finished with style.

The meeting with Canada was nothing – but seemed to apply to everything.

This was a perfect workout for the quarter-finals.

I usually have difficulty walking and running in games that do not apply anything but it was hard not to like about this meeting.

Crowded arena and 50/50 between the Swedish and Canadian supporters, who really completed in 2015 to shout out the last thing they had in the lungs.

The two teams gave us a worthy New Year’s fireworks display.

Junior Barley Ornamental Lightning started with two quick goals. Canada tried to tackle back in the game on the classic manner. At times it was pure wild western hockey, where it was about to pull first. Or get run over. Sweden also managed it.

Canada did what they could, but enough is simply not to.

Junior crowns needed to get up the pace and the physical game before the playoffs, this was a perfect match . Aside from Linus Söderström got off with three minutes left. We must hope that it is not anything serious. READ ALSO Hint: So stop all the quarter finals

Nothing we can live on

Once again, the Swedish team conducted a very good group stage, victory against Canada was the 36th (!) straight. This time we also received hefty advantage of winning the group. Slovakia in the quarter-finals.

But otherwise, no group stage something we can live on. Playoffs is something else, we have seen many examples of this.

Now, the Swedish team grow a level. Now there is no room for any bad match or even any really weak period.

We lost the bronze match against Slovakia just a year ago. Then it was a very disappointed and energized Swedish team that came to the game. Players had not managed to lose the semi-final defeat to Russia the day before. Slovakia was considerably easier to motivate themselves and won against a pale Swedish law.

But Slovakia has a completely new team here in Helsinki. If their 95-litter was strong this team is weaker. Just four players remain from the team in Toronto. Junior crowns eleven. Many of the players were also leading already to a year ago. As Oscar Lindblom, Axel Holmström, Linus Söderström and Gustav Forsling to name a few. Possibly we can also count William Nylander.

Not much scares forward

Defensively, Slovakia is a hard to penetrate team with a good goalie and many tall hills. Forward there is not much that scares, no Slovakian player has scored more than one goal in this tournament. And it has mainly focused on target pin matches for Slovakia. No wonder when their two biggest names, slopes Christian Jaros and Erik Cernak, has its strength in the defense zone. The Slovaks have only scored eight goals in their four games, half of the goals came against newcomer Belarus.

However, Slovakia has played evenly against the top three nations in the group, it was only against Finland as it fell away at the end of match. Which led incidentally Slovakia 2-0 before Finland started its turnaround.

Already Sweden as clear

The quarter finals will forgive. It is for them that this tournament has the potential to grow into something special. We have two scorching semi-finals on Monday that promises to be pure heavyweight meetings.

Russia and Sweden, I see already that clear. The United States should also go there. Since it is Finland or Canada feels as uncertain as it feels safe in the other three quarter-finals.

But no matter which of the two teams take the further it will go off.

I can promise you.

We look forward to the quarter-finals, but it’s the semi-finals we yearn for.

Finally: A happy new year!

Sweden undefeated in the group stage – Swedish Radio

Junior crowns won over Canada, and thus goes unbeaten through the group stage.

Sweden beat Canada 5-2 and made a clean sweep in the group stage.

– It feels like they are not going to believe that there will be someone easy game if we meet them in the future. We have set ourselves a j-written good position for the future, we are going for gold, says Axel Holmstrom to Radiosporten.

But a late goalkeeper substitution when Linus Soderstrom was forced to leave matches worries.

Soderstrom was back after being rested against Denmark later, but switched itself out with 3:49 left.

In came instead Felix Sandström.

A damage on Söderström, who had grown out to first goalkeeper, would be a nightmare for the playoffs.

– Hopefully it was just a precaution. But I have no idea, says Holmström.

As the Swedish team victory was already assured before the game and Canada was ready to table number three was not the game for more than glory.

But that was a long way For two gold aspirants.

Junior crowns wanted to go clean in the group stage and extend his winning streak in the group matches, which is now nine years and 36 games long.

Canada, who had a wobbly group stage journey, wanted a winning feeling with them in the playoffs.

The Canadians played tough physically, but stepped over the line and pulled on expulsions.

When was Sweden mercilessly.

The first three goals all came in numerical superiority:

Alexander Nylander shot 1-0 on a return from the goalkeeper Mackenzie Blackwood after he saved the first shot from Rasmus Asplund. The goal came after 4:37.

Just 2:31 later it was time again. Hill Gustav Forsling shot 2-0 in Blackwoods far corner after good work by Oskar Lindblom front of the net.

Adrian Kempe made 3-1 on a direct shot after 13:38 of the second period at Axel Holmstrom fit. The Canadian goalkeeper got a long sideways movement and did not make it.

In between were Canada reduced after 15:51 of the first period by Mitchell Stephens when Linus Soderstrom, back after being rested in the last match against Denmark, released a return straight out.

A good power play, of course, one of several keys if Sweden is to go all the way and take his third JVM gold in history. Next up is the Slovak Republic in the quarterfinals on Saturday.

Now, doubling the Swedes their target fucked in numerical superiority, and has made six goals in game shape during the group stage.

When did it is not so much that the Swedes burned one five against three mode in the final period. As had already Anton Karlsson increased to 4-1 when he kept his head onto a goalkeeper returned. Rasmus Asplund fixed the final score of the empty bag.

Sweden has convinced and won all group matches (8-3 against Switzerland, 1-0 against the United States and 5- 0 against Denmark.

It is now clear how the quarterfinals will look like:

13:00 Russia-Denmark

15:00 Sweden-Slovakia

17:00 Canada-Finland

19:00 USA-Czech Republic

The quarter finals are played on Saturday, January 2, semi-finals Monday, January 4th and final and the bronze match on 5 January. Sweden has a dream location to reach the semifinals, so, for the tenth JVM tournament in succession.

PSG won 1-0 against Inter and Zlatan was in a good mood

afterwards.

– I hope to come to European championship in this great shape, he said.

In 2015 ended in the best way for Ibrahimovic and PSG. Victory 1-0 over Inter in the short and intense winter tour in Qatar. Mattsson: Looks like City tired of him – Expressen

Claudio Ranieri Leicester refuses to let go of his title chance.

But Sergio Agüeros body language said it, we all thought, the sooner Manuel Pellegrini disappear from Manchester City, the better.

Many players get upset when they will be replaced. It belongs to the sport as much as own goal, masking the corner flag and Arsene Wenger’s eruption on the fourth referees.

Still, I can not help but read into more Sergio Agüeros burning gaze as Manuel Pellegrini chose to pick out Wilfried Bony in 64 minutes at his expense.

There was a frustration that testified more than that Aguero was a bit grumpy. Rather, it was so Aguero allowed himself to become a mouthpiece of entire Manchester City squad, for the whole of Manchester, indeed, for most of England.

The message put forward? That you are tired of Manuel Pellegrini.

City did not disastrous effort against Leicester. Kevin De Bruyne continued with their smart recorder both along the grass and over the back line. Raheem Sterling created a few great locations on its own – including a nice takedown plus shots in the first half.

But City, in this respect derived from the indefensible slappe Yaya Toure in midfield, see Never lift seriously this season. And ultimately, the responsibility of Pellegrini. He can not inspire or motivate his players enough to justify that he is one of football’s most coveted jobs.

This is a season in which Chelsea have failed, Arsenal continue to fall victim to its own unevenness and Manchester United lost all direction under Louis van Gaal. All the conditions are there for the City to be able to run home this league.

Still, no one in the team to care fully. Players lumbering around on the floor and wait for Pep Guardiola to take over in the summer. Manuel Pellegrini wandering to and fro along the sideline and counting the days until he gets fired. The end result – if no decisive change occurs – will be another one in the warm season in the owner’s family Mansour’s auspices.

As said City was not miserable. And Aguero should have got at least a penalty.

But I missed that Geisten as a title contender should not have to look for in an away game against Leicester.

Then a really top teams just go in there and show the cocky upstart exactly what separates a true title contender from an imaginary one.

Claudio Ranieri was unnecessary, almost flirtatious defensive before the match at the King Power stage. Despite the low three points ahead of his opponent pressed the demo coach of their team’s underdog status and described this season as nothing short of a “miracle”.

But there is no miracle that a stable squad spiced with a few quite spectacular talent playing good football. And the fixed stars Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy continued yesterday to show that the resistance does not matter – both quality and disrespect is still there.

Still, I can not agree to reclassify Leicester as a genuine title candidates, although populist in me might like it. Ranieri gangs play right now at the absolute peak of their capabilities. Both Arsenal and City are still waiting to reach its full potential this season.

I sense after all a boring, predictable end to this particular tale.

How good is Denmark: The Danish team has started the tournament with an odd goal victory against Switzerland and a major loss of 1-6 against Canada. Denmark and Sweden have met twice before in the JVM context. Last year, Sweden won 5-1 and in 2007 it also became a Swedish victory, he and all 10-1.

Faced Sweden – Denmark: Only victory matters – SvenskaFans.com

A JVM match against Denmark may appear to be of the simpler variant … and it’s in no way a wrong perception. But the game is also of great importance for the completion of the group stage.

A victory against the Danes would be secure group victory before the final game against Canada. And it would of course welcome to try to avoid having to Finland and Russia, they probably strongest teams in the second group, in the quarterfinals. If Sweden takes third place against Denmark to the United States – which is the only team to threaten – not pinch first place, when Sweden has the upper hand in the form of the victory later.

No need to fear Denmark on Wednesday, however, there not even if the neighbors in the south of course be respected. But the class difference between the teams is after all noticeable.

JVM – already a big Danish success

Denmark started the World Cup with a surprise victory when they defeated Switzerland, but in all honesty it was well rather Switzerland betrayal than Denmark who impressed. Three recorded points are, however, three recorded points and Denmark has thus ensured that it probably avoid relegation matches – which is a great success.

In the group game’s second match was against Denmark, Canada surprisingly long time and also made the first goal more than halfway through the first period. But Canada came back immediately and once you took the lead in the second period rattled it significantly. Four goals in ten minutes secured a planned victory.

Now is therefore Denmark towards the next pre-favorite – and it takes a lot of man can stand against Sweden. Thomas Lillie, who was guarding the goal against Switzerland, learn to get confidence back and Vaxjo goalkeeper will probably have a lot to do. Otherwise, both Alexander True and Mathias From being worth throwing an eye on.

Only Swedish victory in force

For Sweden it is alone win situation – anything else would be a disappointment and a failure. It was an easy victory against Denmark in a friendly match before the JVM, and the game teaches certainly be in the players’ bakhuvuden – Swedish and Danish.

– We know them a little better now, so now we know how we will play against them. We play the same way as in the friendly game will probably go well, said Dmytro Timashov to the Swedish fans about the game against Denmark.

Three simple points will then be recorded and Timashov said to be an important part of the hunt. 19-year-old has seen spirited out during the opening games and also came start production right away. Two games have given four points and a tie for third place in the points league.

Timashov formed a human chain with the brothers William and Alexander Nylander in the premiere, but by Williams injury has instead Rasmus Asplund had a chance there. Regardless of who has been the third link, on the other hand Timashov and Alexander Nylander seen extremely good – and has largely been the leading player, together with Linus Soderstrom in the case. Against the Danes teach the other hand, be Felix Sandstrom allowed to tend bag.

Keep an eye on:

Adrian Kempe, Sweden

Adrian Kempe has not necessarily been bad during the first two games – but the Ontario Reigns forward has not lifted the the way one might expect. Two games is of course nothing to worry about all that much, but Sweden will be able to go all the way teaches Kempe – and the chain of Axel Holmstrom and Oscar Lindblom – need light to the full. Maybe it takes its start against Denmark?

Alexander True, Denmark

Alexander True, Nikolai Ehlers cousin, is one of the more prominent players the Danish team and the nearly two meters the Center can cause problems for many opponents. He is raging currently in Seattle Thunderbirds in the WHL and may well be relevant for the draft this summer, albeit late.
