Chronicle: A power play in the gold class – Old Newspapers

The match was everything to Switzerland who played for the playoffs, but nothing for Junior crowns that have already secured the team victory. It was also noticed in the match beginning where it was the Swiss who took the initiative. Sweden’s JVM stars did not show sufficient clarity in the clearance gap, and accounted for questionable decisions in defense game. After a mistake from the otherwise talented goalkeeper Linus Soderstrom, it also became 1-0 to Switzerland, just over three minutes in the first period.

Soon enough came anyway Sweden into the game again, and it is thanks to the team’s lethal power play. An already good power play game turned out to be even better this game.

Martin Hugl got put on botbänken, and just five seconds later had the junior crown scorer Adrian Kempe made his third goal of the tournament. Extremely well by Kempe, and extremely important for junior crowns to the power play game continues to run smoothly.

In the junior crown second power play in the second period, it was time again. This time it took seven seconds, and totally fell four of Sweden’s five goals in just the power play.

Adrian Kempe doing their best match of the tournament, and he has risen in the JVM in which he plays more resolutely than home in Modo. Kempe really comes into its own on the smaller rink where he can utilize his speed, and drive towards goal in a different way. In SHL it becomes too much snirkelhockey, ala Nylander. It did not feel comfortable Kempe.

Another player who raised considerably this game is Oscar Lindblom. Three goals for Lindblom in the second period is impressive. He’s hot, and we need that many players deliver on Sweden to have chance of a medal in the JVM. 5-1 against Sweden still shows that there are both breadth and in this JVM edition of the Junior crowns.

Now wait Finland or Germany, Sweden, and there I see happy to avoid Sweden, Finland – despite the team’s miserable tournament. When Sweden meets Finland, it is always something special, but not just for Sweden but for Finland as well. Our neighbors in the East have a tendency to develop his best qualities against Sweden in particular.

Even if it becomes Finland or Germany, it is the Junior crown New Year message in the form of a luminous power play something that bodes well. It’s gold class quite easily.

Sara Holmgren from Sävedalen won by far the women’s class in Sylvesterloppet. The fastest was Nassir Dawud, contestants for Eskilstuna, who won the men’s class with a time 31.12 minutes.

A one hour prior to the start at 12 noon on New Year’s Eve eased fog. In brilliant sunshine under a clear blue sky, they could 1530 runners set off from Heden.

At turns no one quarter later had three elite runners broke away from the peloton. They passed the roundabout on the way Sturenkatu with a big head start.

Shortly thereafter forced Johan Strand from Ullevi Stadium FK drop a gap. He retained since the third place into the goal.

– It was a bit slippery on a curve and on the bridge over the river down to Garda. Otherwise, the track was good so there’s nothing to complain about, said a satisfied Johan Beach afterwards.

Nassir Dawud took home his first victory in Sylvesterloppet after a grueling sprint finish with Yared Admasu from Halle IF. Just three seconds separated the two runners at the finish line.

Yared Admasu was greatly disappointed as he worked to win in club-mate Musael Temesghens frånvaro.Temesghen won in both 2012 and 2013 and had signed up this year, but ultimately chose not to participate because of an injury.

This year’s winners Nassir Dawud is an experienced urban runner who last won the half marathon Achieves race in Örebro in October.

Among Sara Holmgren’s previous credits include that she was sixth in both Lidingöloppet and 10 000 meters in the SM.

– Now I will soon run my first marathon. The race is in Dubai and my goal is to take me around, she says.

Here are sports broadcasts that drew the most viewers – Göteborgs-Posten

The World Cup final soccer struck not only record ratings in Germany. In Sweden, the finale at the top among sports events Swede would rather see under 2014.

But it was Viasat that pulled the big winning ticket.

35 million Germans saw the final against Argentina on TV and even in Sweden was the year’s most watched sporting event – 2810000 saw TV4′s broadcast of the Maracana in Rio.

It is better numbers than the channel had counted with, but still will not come as a surprise.

– We know that the World Cup attracts viewers and we also know that if Sweden had been through so would once more have watched, says Jens Tolgraven who was executive producer of the TV4′s World Cup broadcasts from Brazil. At the World Cup four years ago went viewership down, so it is encouraging that so many followed the broadcasts

After 27 straight Olympic Games took Viasat over broadcasting rights from SVT. Not without some criticism because anyone who wanted could not watch. But when the length of the men’s relay was shown was the broadcast of 2.352 million people.

– We know that viewers will find the great moments, but it’s really great that so many people saw the peaks and it feels really good to get it confirmed that people will check and think about it we ship, says Per Nunstedt, Sports Director at Viasat.

Viasat sent the 1300 hour live sports from the Olympics and humbly, he noted that the channel had help along the way.

– So clearly we got good help from the ski team. It is difficult to do the job themselves and success breeds a certain pressure and demand, he said.

Viasat sent Olympics on three legs. The wide channels where TV3 and TV10 counted, the commercial-free option by Viasat and Viaplay, ie the internet, and Nunstedt glad to say that it went well for all.

Especially online.

– It’s very nice to be able to take the bus to work and still be able to see clearly a match or a race. Those who were most satisfied with our broadcasts were the ones who had access to all three options.

By Nunstedt is positive for both SVT and TV4′s productions, but:

– It is important for the television industry to prove that it is possible to show a major championship in an advertising-funded channel. Many were curious and we proved that it was possible.

When PSG yesterday were against Inter Milan in a friendly match was Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the starting line-up against his old club – which are now coached by his former coach Roberto Mancini.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic from start

– I have many fond memories of my time at Inter. I learned a lot there, just as I have done in all my previous clubs, says Ibrahimovic in their app “Zlatan Unplugged” before the game.

At the Grand Stade de Marrakech got Ibrahimovic’s a great opportunity to give his PSG Management after 25 minutes – but Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic managed to stave off a block.

Early in the second Ibrahimovic got an additional mode to burst zero. Lucas Digne found Ibrahimovic with a perfect cross – but again could Handanovic reflex save.

PSG’s would eventually take the lead – when the Frenchman Yohan Cabaye put the 1-0 after 57 minutes.

Frölunda cracked nightmare suite – Göteborgs-Posten

Andrew Johnson and Sebastian Stalberg became great heroes against Modo.

Between October 10 and November 7, 1982 Frölunda lost eight games in a row.

A Nightmare suite. A dark part of history that before yesterday’s meeting with Modo very well could have repeated itself.

But.

The red robed pulled themselves together, broke the suite of seven straight losses and salvaged the first victory since the meeting with Brynäs on 26 November.

The meeting with Modo in Scandinavium ended 2-0. Entirely fair.

Frölunda took command from the first face-off and showed that the match would belong to them. They also received dividends.

After only a minute and a half noted Andrew Johnson for 1-0 goal. 20-year-old came up alone in the castle, took the puck and pushed it into the far corner.

Scandinavium, filled with over 10 000 spectators, exploded. And the audience continued to applaud content throughout the first period.

Frölunda won the shots with 16-6. They should have done more than one goal.

But Linus Ullmark coped with the away goal while neither Erik Gustafsson, Magnus Kahnberg or Mathis Olimb took advantage of the opportunities created.

2-0 goal would come. Moreover, from a historical club.

Sebastian Stalberg, normally loaned to Rögle, but back in Frölunda during the day, got the puck on the blade after just over 28 minutes and made no mistake.

The management was doubled up. And Sebastian Stalberg had been noted for his very first goal in the SHL. Something to remember.

Second period was otherwise very similar to the first one. Frölunda was clearly better team. Created both the most and the best, but managed far from managing all the scoring opportunities that were produced.

In terms of shots statistics and betting patterns should match have been decided after 40 minutes. But before the third period was the lead just two goals.

It turned out, however, suffice just fine.

The last 20 minutes was basically just a long haul to the final whistle. Frölunda focused on lying right and tight instead of chasing a 3-0 goal. And Modo, they had not much to come by.

It became 2-0.

A result that proclaims that Frölunda has broken nightmare suite and can welcome the new year as the winner.

The tribunal CAS hammered the Barcelona shuttle peak in 2015th

Done: Barcelona may not solicit in 2015 – Aftonbladet

Barcelona may not enlist in the calendar year 2015th

It is clear since the Court of Arbitration CAS rejected the Spanish big club’s appeal against FIFA’s judgment.

It was in April earlier this year that FIFA decided to punish Barcelona really hard for what they considered to be irregularities in the signings of foreign-born players under 18 years of age.

The Club sentenced to solicitation for a year.

Barcelona expressed his dissatisfaction with the verdict and judgment on the day judgment. After that FIFA rejected the appeal went to the Spanish club on to the sport’s highest arbitration center in Europe, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), for a further appeal.

Must sell

But it gets yet another setback for Barcelona. CAS announces today that it gives Fifa right and reject the Catalan överklagen.

“The Panel has found that FC Barcelona has violated the rules concerning the protection and registration of minors in their football academies” writes the CAS in its decision.

This means that the judgment remains, and that Barcelona will not be able to recruit over the next two transfer windows. The next time the club will sign players will be in January 2016.

You are allowed to sell players at the time.

Abrahamsson: “This team just continues to grow” – Aftonbladet

Toronto. Junior crowns found a way to win – do not ask me how it happened.

And this team just continues to grow.

While we others see the treetops see the players stars.

It was a very wonderful dense and intense match at least in the third period got a packed Air Canada Center to really live with the drama.

We must be both honest and humble and say that over 60 minutes, Russia was the better team and created more hot positions .

But Linus Södertröm only growing in this tournament and now he climbed once again emerged as a match winning goalie and accounted for some crucial positions.

What a huge positive surprise he has been.

Of course, he had margins with them.

Not least in the controversial situation at the score at 2-2, where the Russians wanted to have goals, but after the Video Preview this did not happen.

Most likely rescued Junior crowns that it simply was not possible to see the position of the puck during Söderströms picking glove.

Shortly afterwards could instead one of my personal favorites, Axel Holmström, pushing the winning goal to 3-2 after a attacking. Just Holmstrom la first a brilliant pass to William Nylander and torques showed Oskar Lindblom both control and cold when he served Axel Holmström.

Held on the balance in the wrong direction

Against the Czech Republic and Denmark, we have complained about too passive and sloppy introductions. Against Russia it was just the opposite. First period, or at least the twelve-thirteen first few minutes, it was the best junior crowns so far shown up in this tournament. It was checked in but at the same time aggressively. Sweden found a perfect balance between a good defensive and to simultaneously control the offensive game.

But in the second period turned it over in Russian advantage.

The accuracy turned into passivity and Russia way too good team for not taking advantage of an offer like that.

This was a match that I felt was the balance in the wrong direction. But as in so many previous JVM tournaments Sweden found a way to win.

outshone only by Aho

Gustavsfors Ling shot is a delight to see. As naturally and with the ability to both shoot and hard to hit the target. In addition, Forsling good use of forwards with Axel Holmstrom spearheaded that really came in front of Russian goalkeeper Sorokin. Now thundered Linkoping slope in the first two goals, both in the power play.

In the game on the ice, he was outshone only by the little Sebastian Aho. Skellefteå was especially during the first half completely brilliant in everything he did on the ice. Last summer was drafted 210 players and that no NHL team took the opportunity to choose Aho already is a mystery to me.

Stay in Toronto importantly

Nothing is won yet and as usual it is in the playoffs as it comes to making the best matches. But the victory against Russia means that junior crowns has earned an excellent starting point.

Now the way is open to the team victory and leave to remain in Toronto instead of a trip to Montreal. A score against Switzerland is enough and it’s just a Kevin Fiala being woken up at absolutely right side that can stop it. Sure, Finland, if it gets them a tricky opponent already in the quarter-finals. But to stay in Toronto I think nevertheless is more important than it is now becoming Finland instead of Slovakia in the quarter-finals.

Since it is not difficult: we will not Finland should we not join in and play for the medals.

Abrahamsson: Tonight starts the JVM seriously – Aftonbladet

The first steps in the tournament has been positive.

Still, it is now it begins in earnest.

Russia will set the first real question to Junior crowns.

I am very curious about the answer.

Junior crowns had the match freely yesterday and that means training day. It was the day before the meeting with Russia and we went out to the gymnasium Kipling, twenty minute drive from the city center. This keeps both the Maple Leafs and Marlies farm team to.

On one of the four rinks in the giant complex undertook the Swedish team a short but focused training. Gustav Forsling was about to shoot William Nylander in the head. Linkoping Hill got a smile back from a quickly crouched Nylander.

The speed was high, but most of all I was impressed by the precision of the passes and the heat towards the goal.

Afterwards, a joint-ice sessions.

Do adage “you play like you practice” wins Junior crowns against Russia.

“Tried not to think about it”

Toronto do not seem to have understood that it is winter. Instead of freezing cold and high snowbanks, it is bare and almost spring temperatures.

Linus Soderstrom do not seem to have understood that there was talk about the Swedish goalkeeper problems facing the tournament.

– I have tried not to think about it. The only thing I thought of is to go out and play my game and make it as good as I can, ‘he replied after training.

After two games, Rikard Grönborg suddenly a pronounced förste- goalkeeper who has impressed.

Not bad for a team that conceded 15 goals in two friendlies and had to borrow a Canadian junior to have someone to put on the bench.

The somewhat taciturn Stockholm resident is not here to deliver quote or talk in the headings.

He’s here to stop pucks. The way he answers questions is as systematic as his goalkeeper games:

– I did not know what I would expect for the tournament. It was just to go out in training camp and run as hard as I could and see how far it was enough.

Now waiting for the tournament so far toughest matches for Sweden and for Linus Söderström.

First Russia, then Switzerland.

The two teams met yesterday and Russia settled the game already in the first period.

Nothing flashy law – but tactically

Russia is good, yet the feeling is good for the night thriller.

This edition of the Junior crowns are not the flashigast or fanciest team to see. Czech Republic, Schwiz and even Denmark lace players on the same level.

But Sweden has a smoothness for sixty minutes and a tactical basis imagine that the law is not around.

Minimum level have been high enough during the matches and the weak periods, as always happens, has been short enough.

One World Championship is about winning matches and to find a performance curve that is raised during the tournament. Firstly, Sweden has done, and the feeling is there is more to pick out Richard Green’s squad.

Something that would be necessary.

Russia is quite different from the Czech Republic and Denmark.

Important to stay in Toronto

Yesterday, I tried to explain how important it is for Sweden to win the group to get remain in Toronto and also get to meet one of the paper easier opponents. A few hours later won the Slovak Republic of Finland and suddenly everything is not so clear anymore.

Actually, nothing new, nothing is certain in a JVM tournament and eventually should also i learn it.

But to remain in the Toronto feels like a reason good as any to highlight the team’s victory as particularly important.

Then learn the required victory in the night’s team finals.

Now you’ll naturally want to remain in the Ducks?

Frölunda coach Roger Rönnberg was disappointed after the loss – the team’s seventh straight.

– We’ll never be a team that falls on the hard work. It should not be repeated, he said in C More.

C More expert Petter Rönnqvists analysis was that the Frölunda’s game deteriorated since the start of the season.

– I have espoused you damn much all season, you have had good game advantage, much shot attempts, you win almost every game. But in the end, it has become a little worse, said Rönnqvist in C More.

But Rönnberg refused to buy that thesis.

– No, it has not. Today it was worse, I know it has not gotten worse, he responded immediately.

Rönnqvist stuck to his opinion and referred to the statistics.

– I have statistics on the 10 last games before Christmas compared to the beginning, said Rönnqvist.

Frölunda coach was stubborn.

– I can my stats, I promise you, we have not gone down.

Petter Rönnquist went on in the interview, but still wanted to clear that he was right.

Malin Wahlberg: Sara Hector is our new star – Aftonbladet

Some may have thought that Åre was just a coincidence. That first podium came just because it was home.

Hardly.

Sara Hector is our new star – and has everything it takes to become one of the most popular.

Two weeks ago, Mikaela Shiffrin in the mixed zone in Åre and saw Sara Hector crossing the goal with green sign. Super Talent myself had a terrible day and said it all figured in one word: “wow”.

After the second place got Hector questions about how much it played into the contest went in Åre. Nothing would turn out.

I’m in the northern forests and thought it would be a little julledig without an alpine Swedish would be best in the world.

It was a stupid idea.

After Hector’s first run, which she described as “ugly”, “wrong” and “slow”, it was just banging at the TV. A podium finish felt affectionate.

Attack, attack, attack

There was talk about the tough conditions in Kühtai, where snow and poor visibility. Difficult conditions are nothing scares 22-year-old from Sandviken. On the contrary.

Hector want to run tough on the border and with full effort. The momentum branches, she has not been able to do it after crash in 2012, but the technology branches is no fear. Just attack, attack, attack.

Hector has changed ski brand, backtracked momentum bet and worked very mentally for this season. This means that she is now at the top of the podium and there she is here to stay.

The 22-year-old will not only be one of our big stars – she will also be one of our most popular. Perhaps you saw it ourselves in victory interview. Hector laughing, bursting and rays.

She does this often. Not only days when she when she’s the best in the world.

Shiffrin called Hector “one of the kindest people she had ever met.” I throw that she also is one of the happiest.

But there are exceptions.

Hector has the temperament of the hill. She makes a mistake or run out, no one misses it. It’s more than once as swear words sounded between the mountaintops, but I like it too.

Have all required

Hector has personality. She is a cheerful soul, a workout fiend and a Win. To follow up his first podium with his first World Cup victory, just like Sara Hector himself, crazy cool.

If a little over a month starting Championships in Vail / Beaver Creek. Hector was in Garmisch Partenkirschen 2011 and in Schaldming 2013. She was an unknown. Now she goes there as one of our greatest medal hope.

I hope that the 22-year-old handles the pressure and the pressure that comes with success. That she continues to do its thing and continue to feel the joy.

How will she with it, there is no reason why she gets a medal, and it would hardly make her less popular.

Sara Hector has everything it takes to be beloved by the people.

If she has not already been there.
