AIK played for gold – lost to HBK – Aftonbladet

A good chance to put pressure on Malmo in gold battle.

It ended up 0-1 against Halmstad cod at home.

AIK were whipped to win against Halmstad to put pressure on series leader Malmö FF.

But against Halmstad had table runner desperately hard to get the running game and “Gnaget” went on an early disadvantage that did not help much.

In the eighth minute drove Johan Blomberg up the ball from his own half and met nothing but a passive AIK-defense.

Outside the penalty area drew HBK-winger and got good hit.

– It was a good goal, got the ball on the left, pushing the ball up, turns into a bit of banana and get a great hit , it’s neat, commented Blomberg in C More.

“Feels far away”

In the second half, which was delayed because of lightning, fought Halmstad Players copiously when AIK played up, had a pair of hits in the timber and chased the equalizer.

But the goals did not come and the loss means the Jets (44 points) remains five sticks after Malmo – who plays Skåne Derby on Sunday afternoon.

– We will target the second place now. It (gold) is long gone, says AIK’s Per Karlsson.

Andreas Alm has not given up on gold dream.

– The first half is pretty poor. We hit the post, and it do not count unless that goal. If I counted correctly, we should still be able to win, I think you do the same calculation, says Alm which are not completely satisfied with the team’s sprint:

Halmstad its part has now climbed to ninth in the table, six points down to kvalplats. 1-0 victory was the team’s fourth consecutive triumph away from home.
