Confirmed: He turned off until further notice – Aftonbladet

Confirmed today:

The Swede EM runner Adil Bouafif, 35, shut down, suspected of doping.

Self denies he.

– All doping is absolutely reprehensible, says coach Karin Tower Klint.

It was this morning that the news leaked out:

Adil Bouafif, who competed for Sweden in the European Championships last summer, had been stuck in a doping test.

Today, at 13.00, confirming the Swedish Athletic Association that it is so.

Anders Albertsson, Secretary General of Swedish Athletics, of course, is disappointed:

How do you feel as coach when this kind of suspicion still comes up

– It never feels good if someone is doped. I find it absolutely reprehensible with doping in general, harmful to the athlete and cheating over the competition. There for no good with them.

Adil Bouafif – which according to the union denies the allegations – came to Sweden from Morocco in 2007 and became a Swedish citizen in 2010 and has a wealth of national championships on the merit list.
