Salo era is over in Leksand IF – Swedish Radio

December 1, 2010 left Tommy Salo role as sporting director of IK Oskarshamn to take over the chore in Leksand IF, his favorite team as a youngster.

Salo changed drastically it sports league in Leksand and made unsentimental of the players who did not fit or were the measure. It was Salo who did away with the coaching duo of Niklas Eriksson and Christer Olsson for the benefit of current coach Andreas Appelgren.

In the qualification matches in 2013 succeeded Appelgren piloting Leksand up to the top flight again, after seven hard years in Hockeyallsvenskan .

2013/2014 Leksand managed to reach seventh place as a newcomer, something that surprised many. This season, however, started miserably with four defeats in as many matches and just three goals ahead.

On Monday (September 22, 2014) announced as Salo he leaves the job Sports Director. Difficulties in cooperating with Farské CEO Kjell Kruse said to be the reason behind the decision.

– Kjell Kruse is the reason. Unable to collaboration with a person who settles in just about everything, said Salo to Dalarna Newspapers.

Thus, Salo era over in Leksand IF. An era that despite a lot of turbulence, with both major financial and sporting difficulties, brought the team into the top flight.
