Marta was behind Rosengårds 3-1 victory in the Champions League, but left the field injured.
Now leave the club good news before the return.
– It was just a precaution to replace her, says sports director Therese Sjögran.
Rosengård drew a good draw to the eighth finals of the Champions League. The Swedish champions were pitted against Italian Verona and showed in the first game they managed to wear favorite landscape.
On away ground shot Marta 0-1 after six minutes behind Verona’s Swedish goalkeeper Stephanie Öhrström.
Went out to Wolfsburg
The home side equalized a minute later after a messy situation in the penalty area, but Rosengård went to the break in the lead 1-2, then Sofie Junge Pedersen nodded in Marta’s corner.
the second half was given Marta a slap on foot. She hobbled by plane, clearly pained, and watched from the bench that Verona had a good chance acknowledgment of Michela Ledris long shot.
But the match last goal also went to the Swedes. Sara Bear Gunnarsdottir added another goal to the final score 1-3, giving FCR superbly located in Thursday’s return in Malmo.
Directly after the match there was doubt about Martha could play on Thursday, but later in the evening gives Therese Sjögran an optimistic forecast.
The objective is Quarterfinal
– She received a slap right across the calf. It was like a haemorrhage. But it was just a precaution to replace her, says sports director.
How do you judge your effort else?
– It’s great having so many away goals but our efforts are like that.
Last year Rosengård reached the quarterfinals of the Champions League, where Nilla Fischer Wolfsburg became too difficult. This season, the goal set at the same level as the team looks to have arranged already in the first eighth final.
– Our goal has always been the quarterfinals, but you get a good draw which could happen as preferably. Now we’ll win the match on Thursday first, and then Klas (Tjebbes, Club Manager) to go down and arrange a good draw back, says Therese Sjögran.
