European Championship Sarah Sjostrom in the 100 meters butterfly stroke – Sydsvenskan

– This was the course of the three butterfly races that felt the best, says Louise Hansson to SVT straight after the race

Sarah Sjöstörm followed up his gold on the 100 butterfly with a silver medal in the 50 meters freestyle. Sarah’s time 23.63 was just seven hundredths for the Dutch ranomi kromowidjojo who took the gold.

Later in the afternoon included two sisters Hansson also in the medley team to swim the final at 4×50 meter medley during today’s final competitions.

Even Simon Sjödin took the medal in the 200 meters butterfly stroke during the championship finish day. With time 1.51.89, a new Swedish record by one hundredth, the Swede came a surprising third.

– I have a little hard to believe it. I thought I fought for the fifth-sixth place, says Simon Sjödin to SVT straight after the race.

In the closing medley final at 4×50 meters became even a medal for the svensak squad. Sweden finished second at the time, 1:45:34 but could not handle the favorites Nedländerna. Sweden had the lead before the final stretch, but ranomi kromowidjojo got caught up and passed Magdalena Kuras on the final freestyle leg Sisters Louise and Sophie Hansson swam the first two legs, while Sarah Sjostrom and Magdalena Kuras swam the final two.

Medal Sophie was his son’s first senior medal.
