Information: Alms future uncertain – AIK in contact with Baxter – Football Channel

AIK has previously acknowledged that looking at alternatives to coach Andreas Alm. Now writes Expressen that the club has been in contact with Stuart Baxter.

After the Allsvenskan finish against Örebro was AIK coach Andreas Alm open with that he understands his position in the club will be discussed in view of the black and yellow failed to win gold.

The same day admitted sporting director Bjorn Wesström be looking at alternatives to Alm.

– It is a normal process. It’s just like with the player market. There is nothing strange. We can make a bid for a player tomorrow, which means we need to have some kind of alternative. It may be that Andreas is a new offer and disappear, so it would be strange if the club does not have some sort of emergency or thoughts about what is beyond what is decided today, said Wesström to the Soccer Channel.

Now say Expressen that a rift between Andreas Alm and parts of the Board of AIK Football AB has grown deeper and that his future at the club remains uncertain.

The newspaper also writes that AIK should have contacted Stuart Baxter. He has previously been AIK’s coach, and won the gold medal with the club in 1998.

The 62-year-old coach was sacked by Turkish Genclerbirligi early on this season and is now Klubblös.

Stuart Baxter visited the Football Channel podcast “Phillips” in October earlier this year when he defended the right Andreas Alm.

– We’re working on a results-oriented industry. Andreas makes great results. I do not really understand the criticism was coming from. All the requirements that we will win a trophy. But the first thing to say is that you should be up there and wrestle, that the supporters feel that you are with. How fun is it to be Chelsea supporter now?

As also opened the Baxter for a return to AIK.

– There are many teams I can see myself in. Maybe not other Stockholm teams when I have a strong feeling for AIK, said the shots in your podcast.
