Andersson: Was wondering what I had gotten myself into – Göteborgs-Posten

Frank Andersson took as the newly elected president to speak to conclude speaker at IFK Gothenburg’s 111th annual meeting.

– Quite honestly, I wondered for a moment during the meeting what I had gotten myself into, he said.

After another year of troubled economy – and a sold Comrade Farm – there were many who wanted to ask tough questions to the blue and white board Monday evening.

A demanding tightening of the ranks – and clearer financial targets for 2016 – was a major sponsor Nils Wiberg. He also suggested by a member to the board, but chose to decline with the addition of “maybe next year”.

– If IFK Gothenburg ask me, do I always played. But I’m very insecure about the economic situation and do so, not what I’m giving myself into, said Wiberg.

When the question of liability for the board came up so seemed a majority shout “yes” then the chairman of the meeting Jan Hallberg hit the gavel. Something that aroused anger among a group of supporters, who had wanted to vote. When Hallberg denied them there so chose a group of at least 50 members to leave the meeting.

The mood was mildly exasperated, even among those who remained. When everything calmed down, however, decided the annual meeting in accordance with the proposal, and chose the new members Jacob Andreasson and Andreas Johansson.

And Frank Andersson was elected with a resounding “yes” to the new president.

– A fantastic mission to get. A moment during the meeting in the evening, I wondered what I had gotten myself into, quite honestly. At the same time it is so, will be 635 members of an annual meeting of a sports … there are not many who have it. We shall use the force. It is a strength, not a threat, proclaimed Frank Andersson.

Then he took his first decision:

– It is a powerful decision, we will send bouquets to the ten members the most senior members.

Frank Andersson perceived two things from the annual meeting, which is the most important and most clearly.
The first is the economy. We need to get the minus and plus to go together. We have to work actively with it. The other issue is that we must be more open, said Frank Andersson.

The annual meeting decided on two annual member meetings.

– Where we get a chance to meet and talk about what we think if. What drives us is the sport. It’s the football we love. We have to have with us this perspective all the time. We must take care of IFK Gothenburg, we must take care of each other. Thanks for the confidence.

The Board also said that it will shortly decide how it wants to do about a women’s team in the Association. The girls’ players who are in Blåvitt turns 16 this year.

Mats Gren told about the strategy for recruitment of players:

– We are trying to be much better in the neighborhood. Looking more and more there. Easier to bring in players without moving them far away. There we can still improve.

The annual meeting also decided to examine the issue of the sections of IFK Gothenburg will be able to form their own associations. This applies in particular orientation, skiing and track and field.
