Henrik Stenson finished second in the PGA Tour’s in Humble, Texas, which was closed during the night of Monday, Swedish time.
Stenson made a nice fourth round and finished on 68 kinds, the same as the winner, American Jim Herman.
Total stopped Stenson at 14 strokes under par, one stroke behind Herman.
– all credit to Jimmy, he did it really well. I played a solid round of golf, some kind was good, even if they were not great, and so I put a few putts at the right times, said Stenson afterwards.
– I had some good chances on the final nine holes, but I did a poor bunker shot on the 12th hole and then missed from barely two meters. But otherwise it was pretty good.
Stenson had the lead for a while and was close to a playoff, but the 38-year-old American could take home his first PGA Tour after a nifty twelve meters chipping on the 16th hole, which meant a birdie on the par-3 hole.
Stenson was the only Swede who played the final round. Upcoming week determined the Masters, the year’s first men’s major competitions, where Stenson and David Lingmerth Swedes are coming to start.
