The host nation Croatia is after two games already beaten out of European Handball Championships – and now gets all the tickets for free.
The organizers decided on Thursday to give away all tickets to the matches in the second group stage round, which begins in the capital Zagreb on Sunday, hoping thereby to attract at least some audience to the remaining matches.
Croatian handball ladies first lost against Sweden in the premiere, and then fell even against Germany. On Friday, they face the Netherlands in the final, meaningless group game.
Croatia organizes the European Championship with neighboring Hungary. Matches in the second group in the main round, which will be played in Debrecen, one must still pay to see. As for the semi-finals, bronze match and Final in Budapest December 19 to 21.
