Lundqvist stopped the stars of the Penguins – Expressen

LOS ANGELES. After resting from playing in Saturday’s away defeat against Detroit, Henrik Lundqvist back in the cage when the New York Rangers tonight, Swedish time, received Pittsburgh.

And as so often before stood Henke stool when he went up against Penguins.

The Rangers won 4-3 and took the important points in the battle surrounding the playoff line.

– We backed home much during the third period and was preparing to it, but we brought us together, says Dan Girardi to nhl.com after having given up a 3-1 lead over the course of 24 seconds.

Great game hero during the extension was hidden ice Kevin Klein, who scored the decisive goal.

It was a special game for Klein when he was hit by Zach Hills lollipop at the end of the first period.

A piece of his left ear was torn off, but doctors could patch up the ear with a few stitches and Klein did not miss a single byte.

– I do not know if you found out that he lost a bit of ear, which is then sutured back. Say what you want about hockey players, but they are tough, praised the coach Alain Vigneault afterwards.

He himself was taciturn after the game:

– Well I got 12 or 13 stitches. But pain is only temporary, he said.

Pittsburgh came into the game in Madison Square Garden without four of their six top forwards – Patric Hornqvist, Chris Kunitz, Pascal Dupuis and Beau Bennett.

It also lacked injured top slopes Kris Letang and Olli Määttä.

Jevgeni Malkin was one of the team’s goals while Sidney Crosby had to settle for an assist.

Rangers first three goals were scored by JT Miller, Rick Nash and Kevin Hayes.

Henke saved 32 of 35 shots.
