Hysen: Understand that people are disappointed – Göteborgs-Posten

IFK Göteborg wanted home Tobias Hysén.

But the 33-year-old chose to extend his contract with the Chinese Shanghai Dongya F.C..

– I understand that there are people who are disappointed, he says to the GP.

At the beginning of 2014 left Tobias Hysén IFK Göteborg. New club address was Chinese Shanghai Dongya F.C..

Ever since then, many blue-white supporters dreamed of top scorer will return.

And yes, there have been discussions.

– I have spoken with Tobbe all the time. And we had discussions about that he would come back in January 2016 says IFK’s sporting director Mats Gren.

– Of course it would have been interesting to have him home.

Now it is not so. Not yet anyway.

Late Monday night came the news that 33-year-old will extend his contract in China over 2016.

– It was not an easy decision to make. As it was last year, it had not been an issue. And we were almost totally committed to go home. But things have changed. It’s the truth. We have got a great accommodation, good teams and good conditions with trainers, exercise plan, and the medical team. It feels like the whole club has taken two or three steps towards becoming more professional, he said.

– Since the economy is a factor. There is nothing I have tried to hide away. Would I stay another year, I wanted a better deal. And getting this kind of contract so late in his career …

How close was it to you instead chose to return to Blåvitt?

– The Of course it was close. And Blåvitt have always been told what happens. We have been honest with each other. Had it not solved here, I had most likely gone home. So is it after all.

What have you got for reactions from IFK fans?

– 95-99 percent have been good wishes and positive messages. Since I understand that there are some who are disappointed that think I’ve broken a promise. And then it’s to some extent. I was pretty sure I would go home after two years. And I’m the first to admit that things have changed.

The new contract expires at the end of 2016.

Is it then return to IFK Gothenburg takes place? Will Tobias Hysén, then 35 years old, to get ready for the Premier League in 2017?

– It is impossible to say. It is too far in the future, says Mats Gren.

Tobias Hysén yourself:

– I do not dare say anything. Now two years left here.

Are you missing Gothenburg?

– I always do when I’m away. And it is clear that it became jealous when you watched the first match. You know how the feeling is to go in there. But while I have it pretty good here too. And the atmosphere in the stands start to get better. Even though I do not always understand what they are saying …
