Lusth is fired despite the advancement – Aftonbladet

Malmö Redhawks went up in SHL after several failed attempts.

But now the head coach Mats Lusth fired.

– I have informed Mats Lusth our tough decisions during the afternoon, says the president Tommy Qvarfort.

Malmö Redhawks came back to SHL after seven years in the Hockey Allsvenskan. But Mats Lusth may not be continued confidence as head coach.

On Monday, the club announced in a press release that Lusth may leave his post.

– I have informed Mats Lusth our tough decisions during the afternoon and I want to point out that Mats took our decision very professional, says chairman Tommy Qvarn Fort and continues:

– Mats has fulfilled its mandate, which he did two years ago to take us to the SHL, but we still feel that we need to make a change in our management team in preparation for SHL.

Lusth have won championships with Malmo as a player and after several failed attempts took the club to the SHL . Malmo announced in the same press release they decided to hoist the sweater nowadays 66 to “show respect” for Lusth.
