Magnus Johansson has made a total of 25 first-team seasons, but a few more will not. It confirmed the 41-year-old at a press conference during Thursday night.
The match in Skellefteå on Easter Sunday, when the LHC lost SM semifinal series, became the last of the elite career.
– It will be nice to able to be himself more, he says to Corren.se.
Johansson made international debut at age 26, NHL debut as a 34-year-old and he was 36 when he became involved in the Vancouver Olympics.
There was no question that he would have stopped already faced this season, but he does not regret it became another year.
– I am happy that I played this year too. I feel much more ready now than I did a year ago. I did enough this season to process it, he said.
However, there was no national championships in Linköping shirt for Johansson, but he still hopes to celebrate a gold medal in the city:
– It has largely been what pushed me. The biggest dream has been to lead the team and win gold, but I will hope as much in the future as well. For all people, for the club and for the city.
