Russian World Championship gold medal after turning – Västerbotten Courier

Russia won the World Cup final in bandy after an improbable turnaround in the final minutes. The match ended 5-3.

Sweden looked to have secured the gold when Patrik Nilsson put 3-1 on the corner with just five minutes left. But the answer came quickly from the Russian team with two quick goals in a minute. And shortly afterwards, Pavel Rjazantsev 4-3, which almost got the roof off of the indoor arena in Khabarovsk. Maksim Isjkeldin sat since winning goal in overtime since Sweden staked everything on an acknowledgment.

Thus, repeated the story for the Swedish hockey team. This was the third time in as many years as Sweden lose a World Cup final against Russia.

Sweden got a great start. Blue and yellow had a two goal lead after just seven minutes thanks to goals by Daniel Andersson and Per Hellmyrs. And the Russian team seemed initially find it difficult to deal with the Swedish team’s high pressure.

But the Russians recovered and dominated much of the first half. The Swedes were rescued several times by the large gambling goalkeeper Andreas Bergenwall include drove off a neutral, but after 40 minutes could Sergei Lomanov reduce the area.
