The Prodigy shines – but heavy for Stenson – Expressen

AUGUSTA, GEORGIA. Henrik Stenson struggled and toiled, broke a club, and fought some more.

After a tough game in the stifling heat, he chose then to pay tribute to fellow pillar, FLASH Jordan Spieth.

– He have an old man’s head on a young man’s shoulders, says Stenson.

Jordan Spieth equaled the record for lowest 36-hole core in a major.

– It’s cool, it’s always a great feeling to beat a record, he said.

Thursday 64 followed by 66 and 21 old famous Texan has a firm grip on the green jacket he was stumbling close to winning last year.

During the first two days played Spieth with Swedish world number two Henrik Stenson.

– He plays so mature and strategically and do not make many mistakes. You can feel that he comes here with good shape and wind, says Stenson, adding:

– He has played extremely solid and has distanced himself to the rest of the field. So he plays with the situation he was in now, that’s his race to lose.

“Will be required patience”

Spieth sit for the weekend’s game at the highest management after 36 holes in Masters history. A record he shares with Herman Keiser (1946) Jack Nicklaus (1975) and Ray Floyd (1976). Spieth has recorded the lowest Masters The result of all times so far. Spieths 130 kinds are better than Floyd’s previous record high of in 1976.

– It will require patience, says Spieth about the future.

Stenson’s part ended the round of 73 kinds, a total of two over par and just clarified the qualifying limit.

Stenson fought against influenza symptoms in the 30 degree heat – and a mallet sacrificed along the way.

– I am satisfied with fighting effort, he says before He talks about what caused the broken stick.

– I missed driven left and it was really nothing strange. I had a tiometersgap left and a tiometersgap right of a thin pine. I went for the left gap, then I managed to push the middle of the tree.

Cracked his iron-all

After the ball slammed hard in the tree and bounced out into the audience found Stenson it behind a chair brand among the pine needles.

– The right was perhaps the right thing to just pitch it down and take the medicine, but my other half saw that the battle was there although it was a bit risky.

The next shot landed in the water hazard short of the green – then cooked it over for Stenson and shortly later the iron sixth grade in two.

– take a chance to take a chance as men. It felt like maybe it was not the right decision, he said.

But the club buckling force seemed to give lighter fluid. Stenson pliktade, dropped, hit it on the green and sank the putt for a bogey.

– I held it together, the three-final four holes for water visits, it means we get to play on the weekend.
