Miguel Angel Jimenez and Keegan Bradley had a minor altercation on the 18th hole in Friday’s final group match in the WGC Match Play in San Francisco.
The match between Jimenez and Bradley was meaningless because none of them could go on. But on the 18th hole lighted it considerably.
Keegan Bradley had played his ball near the bleachers and discussion arose how he Skulla drop the ball. A judge was in place but Jimenez still wanted to talk about how it would be. Bradley said that Jimenez would go back to his ball and let the judge take care of the situation.
Bradley’s caddy lay the discussion. Then said Jimenez at him to shut up. Keegan Bradley became furious, strode up close to Jimenez and said, face to face: “You will not tell my caddy to shut up.”
In the end, turned Jimenez, the game was played completely. The Spaniard won 2/0.
Henrik Stenson, who also was eliminated even before Friday’s game, lost their final group match against Bill Haas with 3/1. He won one game and lost two.
– I played alright considering that I have not been training for a month, says Stenson to the Swedish Golf.
Lee Westwood and Masters winner Jordan Spieth was a crucial match – that Westwood won 1/0.
The 64 highest ranked players (who were up to 70 because of cancellations) were in the competition. The winner of the 16 four-man teams are now on to the quarter final. Now comes directly exclusion.
