Three Crowns fell despite the dream start – Vasabladet

Dream start was a nightmare.
Three Crowns dropped 3-0 lead to defeat against Canada in the group final of the Ice Hockey World Championships late on Wednesday night with a 4-6.

– It’s too bad. It is a lesson we must take with us, ‘said Anton Lander. Edmonton Centre Party, who shot Sweden’s first goal was depressed afterward.

That it was not the first time stung too. Against the Czech Republic in the premiere burned Swedes three two-goal leads. At the time, Swedes could come back and win on penalties.

This evening was no turning back. – When we have the lines we must be stronger than that and have two or three guys home. We do not take a chance anything. We were a little too eager, said Lander. Federal captain Pär Mårts called it mental meltdown.

– I thought we lost confidence in what we were doing. In the last two periods, we were not really close, he said. A dream period should have laid the foundation.

The loss means that the Tre Kronor probably be forced to travel to Ostrava to play the quarterfinals. A trip of almost 400 kilometers one way. And then, at the victory, back to Prague again for the rest of the tournament. Sweden meets Germany in their next group stage match on Thursday night.
