The International Association of Athletics Federations turn off Russia from all international athletes.
This means that the country can be stopped from the Olympics in Rio next year.
– The This has been a shameful Alarm Clock, says IAAF President Sebastian Coe.
Last week came the WADA report that went to the fierce attack against the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) and above all Russian track and field.
Anti-Doping Organization investigation showed that there was systematic doping in Russian athletics.
WADA wanted the IAAF could turn the Russian Athletics Federation from all international athletes. It is now becoming a reality.
IAAF voted on the issue on Friday and the result was clear – 22 votes to switch off, 1 vote against.
“A shameful Alarm”
This means that no Russian athletes get set up in international competitions until further notice. Russia may also be banned from the Olympics in Rio in 2016 if no changes are made.
– This has been a shameful alarm clock and we are clear that cheating will not be tolerated at any level, says IAAF President Sebastian Coe.
How long shutdown comes is unclear in the current situation.
– It is up to Russia to make changes, says Coe.
