Lulea continues to win in the SHL. On Friday evening was the fifth victory in six games when Norrbotten on hemmais defeated Modo 2-0.
Modo get chance for revenge already on Saturday then back to back-meeting between the teams played in Örnsköldsvik.
Modo has found form after practicing the change a month ago and came to Lulea with three wins in the last five games behind.
Ångermanlänningarna began with highest speed and put pressure on the home team at the beginning, but without creating any really hot scoring opportunities.
Lulea worked his way slowly into the match, and Johan Harju was on two occasions just millimeters from giving his team the lead but the shots hit the crossbar and post.
Jacob Lagace was also close to scoring when Toni Rajala found him free at Modokassens left pole. The goalie Jonathan Bjurö were caught on and made a lightning fast lateral movement and saved.
Front and back
My Round was an illustration of the concept of Hawaii Hockey.
The game swung back and forth without a break in play in long sequences. Despite the sometimes disorganized attack game created both teams hot chances.
But the goals did not materialize, largely because of some great goalkeeping by goalkeepers, Luleå’s rejection was guarded by Joel Lassinantti.
Shots statistics after two periods was 21-19, reflecting the game. Luleå was somewhat sharper than the Modo.
Lagacé dot shot
Ångermanlänningarna began the final round strongly and created chances by Noah Welch and Maxim Lapierre.
But Luleå came back and took the initiative and after half the period had Norrbotten dividends.
Johan Forsberg found Jacob Lagace the dot shot into the top corner behind Modo goalie.
Modo moved up their game after the goal and took in the end the goalkeeper to attack with six field players.
But the chance was unsuccessful when Luleå Karl Fabricius picked up a loose puck and put it in the empty bag.
