Now, says Erik Hamrén’s about the mentee Allan Kuhn.
– I’m happy that he gets the chance. It is a super guy.
Allan Kuhn and Erik Hamrén has shared many experiences together. The Dane played for the Swedish national coach in Örgryte last years of the 90th century. Gothenburg team accounted for an exciting short pass to football where the seasons – and team captain Allan Kuhn was an important profile of the team. He was known as a friendly, social joy spreader with leadership.
– I had him as a player in Örgryte. A super guy, both as a player and man, says Hamrén.
“I fought for him”
When the Swede took over Aalborg (2004) in the Danish league as he heard of to Kuhn to entice him to become assistant coach.
– He was player-coach at Bornholm. I fought to get him to Aalborg. I wanted someone who knew how I played football and also get into a Danish leader in my organization. But I had to work hard for him, says Hamrén and continues:
– It was one of my best decisions as a leader. It was very, very good. He has knowledge of football and is a good man. And he is Danish, of course. I wanted a Danish leader who could be a little closer to the players. He was really, really good. Clever!
There is a game technical detail that Erik Hamrén is particularly impressed.
– I released all the set pieces to him. He was cruel to fixed. I remember a crucial match against Brøndby where we scored three goals in a corner – everything was to his credit. I am glad that he gets the chance in the MFF, it will be exciting to see.
Hamrén not surprised
The Swedish federation captain confirms Allan Kuhn phoned him about the MFF job – heard for if the association – and Hamrén was not surprised that the Dane was named the new coach.
– Yes, I talked to him about it on one occasion. He knew what the MFF stands for. I had an eye on that there was no question (that he would get the job), said Hamrén who think that Malmo has taken an informed decision, although Kuhn rarely worked as head coach:
– I am convinced that the MFF is made a good research. They get the coach they want.
