Successful comeback of Oscar Alsenfelt – Aftonbladet

VÄXJÖ. More than three months without a game.

Then stepped Oscar Alsenfelt in and had a great game when Malmo slammed against Växjö.

Oscar Alsenfelt, 28, was recruited back to Malmö for this season as the intended goalkeeper one.

Already in October, he was forced to throw in the towel because of a muscle strain in hip bend and has been away since.

– It has been frustrating. I enlisted to play and contribute. Then one wants to help, says Alsen infact.

– I have tried to be positive, but it has been tough and sad not to be able to play.

In Växjö, after over three months on the side, came the long-awaited comeback.

And what a comeback.

Alsen infact a great game, saved 32 of 33 shots and led Malmo to a 5-1 victory. That despite Skanians missing eight players.

“Had everything to win”

– I am extremely pleased with considering the conditions. I have not been playing for a long time but it felt good all the way. I also got a lot of help, slopes made it really good. It was a team victory, says Alsen infact.

The decision that he would play arrived on Tuesday.

– It was a bit unexpected. I never thought I’d get the chance so soon. I had only done two or three real trainings, says Alsen infact.

– But the coaches thought “Gunnar” (Jonas Gunnarsson) needed rest. At the same time, it was a good location. We got big beating from Vaxjo later and had everything to gain. It was a fitting task for me.

Fingertip of the coaches, then?

– Really. It shall have a shout. I have played in Växjö before and feel confident Vida Arena, it’s almost like home to me. It gave me a good feeling.

Want becomes the first goalie again

Now we hope Oscar Alsenfelt able to compete for the first spade again:

– I hope and believe it. Hip feels very good now, he says.

– But with this bet and win, I would have been able to stand here with a broken leg, it had felt good. We’ll see how the body responds when I slowed down.

How do you see the competition in the case?

– The is fierce. “Gunnar” has been absolutely phenomenal and hardly made any mistakes.
