The strike may affect football headlines – Göteborgs-Posten

2012 threatened the premier division players to strike to get through the collective agreement with the clubs. Now the negotiating parties again – and is far from consistent.

– The strike is the last measure, saying Playing Society General Secretary Magnus Erlingmark.

P4 Kalmar was first reported that negotiations between the Player Association, represented by the Union, and the Swedish Elite Football Association (SEF), represented by the Employers’ Alliance, is sluggish. A collective agreement for elite soccer players to the parties but is far from consistent. The talks on a new agreement, the previously expired in December and extended monthly until a new is signed, have been ongoing since last fall.

Two issues have been particularly difficult to agree on – the players’ pension and compensation work injury.

– It’s all about money in the end. Opinions differ, says Magnus Erling Mark.

– We think we’ve reached out his hand in several areas. Just look at unions’ annual reports. Large parts of the money goes straight down to the players’ salaries. You can get past that one can not take into account the large deficits many of the clubs stuck with. It is difficult to negotiate about money that does not exist, said the SEF Secretary General Mats Enquist.

After the end of the year called state mediation in order to facilitate the negotiations. But yesterday gave up the mediator. The parties were too far apart to an agreement would be accepted.
– This can roll on forever, says Magnus Erling Mark.

Can there be a strike?

– I do not know . I hope not. Players in Sweden have never gone on strike before. The strike is the last action.

SEF must have membership meeting on Friday, 18 March. Then the collective discussed. Mats Enquist says that the clubs have already gone a long way to meet players’ demands.

– We have different picture of what we can achieve. I think we have taken steps forward. But it is the clubs’ decisions and therefore it is important that we talk to them again.

Do you think it can go so far as to make it strike?

– Hopefully we will find a solution. Everyone wants to play ball in the end.
