Lillehammer / Stockholm. He was best Swedish mini-tour – ending a total of five.
But Calle Halfvarsson are dissatisfied with the ending.
– It was a crappy race, he said.
It was great Norwegian dominance in women’s and men’s side in Lillehammer at the weekend. Best Swedish was Charlotte Kalla and among gentlemen were Calle Halfvarsson top of the results list for Sweden.
He went out in fifth place on the pursuit, and ended at the same location in the mini-tour.
But the 25-year-old is anything but pleased with his performance on Sunday.
– I have no strength at all today unfortunately. It feels bad from the start. It was a crappy race, says Halfvarsson.
“He’s too strong”
The Swede went out hard and came up with Johnsrud Sundby and Finn Haagen Krogh. But when the Norwegians increased the tempo so could not Halfvarsson latch on to.
– I do not think I get no response when I press to, and understood that they would be caught up in the stadium. There was a small string when Martin (Johnsrud Sundby) Rick and I were behind Pål (Golberg) so it was a little gap there. It was heavy, says Halfvarsson.
– I do not think I had the strength to Martin today, he’s too strong. But at the same time there was a gap and they put a little mentally. But oh, I can not today. It’s a good location, but a bad race. I had their sights set me on the podium and it fails me today.
