Henke winner – despite the slump in third – Aftonbladet

NEW YORK. Henrik Lundqvist is still king in New York.

Although the Rangers again schabblade away a two goal lead in a matter of seconds against Pittsburgh last night was Swedish goalie star for a very solid effort.

– It was frustrating that it got those goals in the third period, but in essence it felt really good, he says Sportbladet after that eventually became an overtime victory.

After some less successful matches in recent weeks, with the insert against the Tampa early last week that particular alarming blot in the protocol, Henrik Lundqvist been if not challenged so in any case under discussion if he finds it difficult to mobilize hundred percent focus during parts of the long series of rhythm.

At night, when the Rangers took the rival Pittsburgh he had the chance to replicate – and he did.

“Not used to it”

“Henke” seemed more alert than ever, made a series of really advanced rescues and despite that Pittsburgh came to play without a series regular players – including missing Swede Patric Hornqvist, gone with suspected concussion – he was forced to stop 32 shots.

– It was my first match in a week and so long residence is I do not really accustomed to during the regular season. But both have the schedule was a bit strange and also has Cam (Talbot) played so it’s only been trying to adapt, he says when we meet him afterwards.

“Where frustrating”

He continues:

– I have tried rubbing details during training sessions instead and in essence I think it felt really good for me tonight.

The Rangers did, however, to ask for it exactly the same way as against Detroit on Saturday.

They had the lead 3-1 with five minutes remaining, but could suddenly Penguins, within the space of 24 seconds, using two defensive breakdown and catch up.

– It was frustrating that they got into the targets. Especially the third, then it did not feel good, says “Henke”.

– But the important thing is that we finally got the two points. It feels especially good for me now that it has been so long between matches.

Yes, during the overtime that eventually followed successfully hill Kevin Klein dust into decisive 4-3 from the blue line.

– He’s clearly the best shot in our team, no doubt. It’s not so funny when we train, because it hurts when he hits one, but I appreciate it when we play, says King Henry.
