Advantage NY Rangers in the playoffs – Västerbotten Courier

Five straight wins, series victory – and therefore the home ice advantage in the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Most of it goes right to NY Rangers in and with a 4-2 victory away against New Jersey secured Presidents trophy.

Last year the NY Rangers to the finals of the NHL’s playoff game, but where was the Los Angeles least one number too big. This year there are some indications of a new playoff success.

The Rangers have already secured the Presidents Trophy, the trophy awarded to the regular season’s top teams – which means that the team has home ice advantage in a possible seventh and decisive match playoffs through.

And the team’s main players – goalkeeper Henrik Lundqvist – are both rested and in top form. He has four straight wins since he got back from an injury but rested in the win against New Jersey. The more active was his countryman Carl Hagelin, who received a pass score by Kevin Hayes 1-0 goals in the first period and closed the match with his 17th goal of the season at the end of the match in the empty cage.

Ottawa playoff hopes alive since the team returned 0-3 to 4-3 at home against Pittsburgh. Mika Zibanejad played until Ottawa’s 3-3 goal 18:12 into the third period – and Erik Karlsson assisted by Mark Stone’s goal in the long run.

Henrik Zetterberg and Gustav Nyquist each made a goal when Detroit took an important step towards a playoff spot after 3-2 at home against Carolina.
