Andreas Gustafsson has recognized the EPO doping.

Now shut predecessor of two years.

– This is the normal penalty, says Åke Thimfors, chairman of the Doping Tribunal.

It was in late March that Andreas Gustafsson got busted for doping. 33-year-old is one of Sweden’s most accomplished runner and has participated in both the European and World Championships.

Gustafsson declined the analysis of the B sample, which is seen as recognition.

– I was shocked and surprised. Especially when it’s Andrew. I have known him since the late 90s, and he has always been clear about what he thinks about doping when it happened in other countries, so he really was not the person I had expected, ‘said Birger Field, chairman of the Swedish pedestrian and varndrarförbundets race committee then.

“The usual”

Now judgment come. Gustafsson turned off for two years for having doped with EPO.

Gustafsson has previously gone on the attack against the Russian predecessors, arguing that they doped themselves.
