IFK Goteborg won the classic Tiomila – for the first time ever.

Eventually differed only three seconds between the year’s first and second in Tiomila.
The man who saw to it that the seconds were on IFK Gothenburg page named Eskil Kinnevik Mountains.
The young Norwegian went out as the fifth man on the last stretch, stamped as second at the final control and then managed to sprint to victory.
Halden SK was second and last year’s winners Kalevan Rasti, with world champion Thierry Gueorgiou as finished, had to settle for third place.
– The team had made it great all the way. So I got a very good starting position and then everything was perfect considering the tactic, says Kinne Mountains.
The victory was IFK Gothenburg’s first ever in Tiomila. And besides, the first time a Swedish men’s team won in ten years.
– It feels really great. Our goal was to be on top and we knew it was possible to win, but still, says Kinne Mountains.
Why do you stand victorious?
– Hard to say . But it has become a very good training center in Gothenburg. There have been many new runners and we are pushing each other in training. There seems to be giving results.
How have you celebrated the victory?
– There has been so much more than awards yet, but in the evening it becomes a good party!
The next big challenge for IFK Gothenburg are Finnish Jukola in mid-June.
Can the team repeat the amazing feat then?
– Of course we can! Can we win Tiomila we can win there too.
