Faced Sweden – Slovakia: Simple resistance of the paper, Sweden – SvenskaFans.com

Sweden ran over Switzerland 8-3 in their opening match. But the victory was costly when William Nylander went on a head injury and has not been available since. But Sweden has impressed despite the damage to the “Little-Nye” and lined up gains against the US, Denmark and Canada. United were 1-0 after some great goalkeeping by Linus Soderstrom in the Swedish case. Alexander Nylander scored the only goal, and little brother Nylander has really stepped up in big brother’s absence.

The victory against the USA was followed up with a 5-0 crushing of Denmark and secured the group victory for the Swedish team. Sweden had five different scorers in the victory against Denmark, which will certainly delight coach Rikard Grönborg. Adrian Kempe scored after 13 seconds, and set the tone for Sweden.

In the final match against Canada as Sweden showed once again why they were one of the favorites. The match ended 5-2 after goals by Alexander Nylander, Gustav Forsling, Adrian Kempe, Anton Karlsson and Rasmus Asplund. Just like in the victory over Denmark so they spread out the scoring and the Swedish power play was really sharp and accounted for the initial three goals for Sweden.

Slovakia light resistance on paper

Slovakia finished fourth in Group B with a win and three losses. It began the tournament by beating Belarus 4-2, but then it was three straight cod against the Czech Republic, Finland and Russia. It managed to keep down the numbers against the Czech Republic and only lost 2-0. But in the game against Finland, then leaked it sharply backwards when förorade with 8-3. In the last match against Russia as they played tough, but was eventually defeated 2-1.
Matus Sukel leads the Slovaks in scoring with one goal and three assists.

Sweden got the easiest possible resistance on paper, but the game will still be played, and there is little arrogant by some experts to go out and say that Sweden already to think about the semi-final. There is no doubt about it that the junior crowns are big favorites to win, and that it is quite possible to be an overrun, but upsets have happened before, so Sweden will not take anything for granted.

William Nylander still not been on the ice after the hit he got against Switzerland and Linus Söderström assumed in the match against Canada, but Soderstrom will be ready for the match on Saturday.

Keep an eye on:

Alexander Nylander, Sweden
Little brother Nylander HAS certainly proved how talented he is, despite his young age. 17-year-old has accounted for three goals and five assists in four games and lead the internal scoring leaders. Alexander has certainly strengthened their shares for this summer’s NHL draft, even though he already was seen as a very exciting talent.
 Matus Sukel, Slovakia
Sukel leading internal points league and seems to be the game for the Slovaks, as he has three assists in four games. Sweden can make it difficult for Sukel and force him to make quick decisions with the puck so much of a success.
