Gais was going to blare great in the derby. But with just minutes left turned IFK Gothenburg. Emilio Rossi was the derby hero.
The historic first derby of futsal between IFK Göteborg and GAIS played for just under half full grandstands. The setting was not at all expected. And the outcome of the match was becoming equally unexpected. Gais, with only a victory in the previous Swedish Futsal offs, long struggled down IFK, which until derby had not lost in the series. After two almost farcical goals in the first half Gais had a great opportunity to bring home the derby.
At the 0-1 goal would IFK Gothenburg goalkeeper Christoper Solberg clear away a long range pass. Then Olle Johnels in for the day, black-clad Gais front with a long leg and blocked. The ball went back against IFK target and bounced slowly across the finish line.
Next Makrillmål was almost even turligare. A long draft from the formidable Fredrik Olsson seemed to fizzle out. But Dan Monell, trigger-happy Raiders of IFK, decided to try to nod the ball to own goalkeeper. The idea was good but the execution may be said to be worse. The ball went unnoticed Solberg and Gais had a two goal lead. And it almost without really creating any chances.
The rest of the match shrank Green Black surfaces and fought feverishly in defense game.
goalie Fredrik Olsson sacrificed himself most of all when he saved a shot by Dan Monell with the nose. He lay there for a good while but went last five minutes with a swab into one nostril.
Before that, however, he received retrieve the ball behind him once. Mathias Etéus, who played for IFK Göteborg in the Allsvenskan, bombed reduced following a corner. But despite the big game advantage and a whole cavalcade of shots against Gais Buren kept his lead for long. But with less than five minutes left came the equalizer. Adam Stefanson showed up unattended at the far post and put the target.
And just minutes later slammed it shut behind it knocked Olsson.
Emilio Rossi fired into 3-2 from slight angle and completed Blåvitts use.
