Johan Olsson pays tribute to his wife after the gold, “She is fierce” – Aftonbladet

Show details / STOCKHOLM. The loss of the family was enormous – but Johan Olsson endured and was rewarded with a World Championship gold.

The wife Anna gave him no choice.

– I said that we give up now, we repent for the rest of our lives, says Anna Olsson SVT after medaljcermonin.

Diseases destroyed the season, but when it was time for the 15 km in Falun, Johan Olsson better impact than any other.

Behind the World Championship gold is a seven week long isolation from the family. After Johan Olsson crossed the finish line after the success of the race told me that he repeatedly broke down to missing during the upload.

But he gritted.

“She is fierce”

On the orders of his wife Anna.

– When you are at the beginning of this road is enormously heavily when one does not know where this will lead somewhere, says Johan Olsson of SVT’s studio after the medal ceremony.

SVT What makes you stay?

– It is she who is sitting here beside. She is fierce.

Anna Olsson explains:

– I say we need to persevere so that we do not repent afterwards after we toiled so many months both. That if we give up now, we will repent of the rest of our lives. I said you just have to be left in the cottage. Molly (daughter) must attend the pre-school and you and she can not meet you when you are in the cabin.

Johan Olsson:

– You become emotional. She is as involved in this as I do, if not more. It is she who must lift me up when I break down. Without her I would not have been here. But when you hit it feels like to be left home yesterday, we’ve been together so long it becomes to know each other so well that it’s like you never been apart.

To meet the children may wait.

– If I meet the kids, it’s like ripping off a band-aid over an open wound so it’s pretty damn tough emotionally so then would not pull away.

After receiving the

gold medal hung around his neck hugged Johan Olsson on both the king and queen.

The mood was high – and Johan Olsson was ordered several times to wave to the massive crowds mass.

– Just the feeling to have such jubilation and see the Swedish flag at the top and hear the national anthem, there are things you dream about when you were seven years old and looked at the Three Crowns against Czechoslovakia. There are things you dream about so that way it becomes almost surreal, Olsson says and continues:

– You can not compare with anything else and it will never be able to do it either.
