Rolf-Goran Bengtsson’s World Championship horse Casall has made his last major championship.
– There will be no European Championships this summer for his part, says Bengtsson GP.
Instead, the 16-year old colt gradually phased out from racing for about a year to retire and devote themselves to breeding.
– We will hand-pick a number of competitions during the season so he can be phased out in a sensible way. It is important that he should end his racing career in a dignified manner and not pump out the last, says Rolf-Goran Bengtsson GP.
During the previous calendar season has Bengtsson consciously rationed Casall contestants.
– We have been a bit low and opted out of some major events I usually ride, just to save him. He is, after all, 16 years old, it can not match him how hard any time. He needs to recover in between, he said.
At Sunday’s World Cup race in Gothenburg when RGB compete with Casall he has, at least theoretically, chance for the finals in Las Vegas.
But even if he succeeds, he chooses to abstain, just to save Casall.
Since Casall is not current for the European Championships in Aachen, Germany in August became the World Cup in France in September, his last major championship, a championship where he and Bengtsson finished in fourth place for overall fantastic efforts.
