The newcomer: “We will be the Swedish masters” – Aftonbladet

Ostersund are not satisfied with the headlines.
They should be best in Sweden – instantly.
– We compete to become Swedish champions, we will not go there as tourists says chairman Daniel Kindberg.

19 years after the founding Östersund is clear to the league after the 1-1 away against Syrianska. It is not a shy newcomer, it is all about. Charismatic chairman Daniel Kindberg has distinguished himself by piloting the Östersund in the Swedish league system thanks to unorthodox methods interspersed with an extreme ambition. The external observer has been able to follow a squad that alternated innovative cultural projects with a ball holding short pass to football.

Aiming high

Östersund ambition is thus not only to cope remain in the headlines.

– Football is basically about winning football matches. Therefore they want to win the contest to set up in. We will not change our mentality just because we go up a division, says Daniel Kindberg.

What does that mean in practice?

– We compete to be the champion. We are not going to Allsvenskan as tourists, for us to win and we will do that with our methods.

It is a high goal.

– Sure. But I will never be involved in something where we aim to end eight, twelfth or even the second. It does not happen.

Expanding the Arena

How will you do it?

– The is no secret. It takes leverage over three years where we should double our turnover. From 30 to 65 million approximately. Then we challenge of becoming Swedish champions. There are no special advanced brain teaser or brain surgery.

How will you do that?

– The biggest challenge is not the team or the players – it’s on Market Group. The entire business community in Östersund and throughout Jämtland must be behind us. We will also expand the Arena (Jämtkraft Arena) so that it takes ten to eleven thousand.

According to Kindberg has Ostersund the best audience in the country.

– Of course you admire Hammarby huge average. But we have a much larger percentage of the population of the locality on our games. More than 10 percent of the population goes to the matches. We were the best match organizer in Superettan and will be the best also in the headlines.

“Can not afford to buy our players”

How Reason you on the squad?

– We will rotate the squad. 6-8 players are replaced. We have been very clear to us what the leaders, and characters that we want in. Then we just have to

get the players to Östersund, but we are quite hard. There will be a lot of ringing.

Do you keep the top players?

– Of course. Many will try to snatch, but we have most of the contracts. And there is no club in Sweden who can afford to buy our players. And the players want to stay – we’ve Sweden’s best coach.

“Scandinavia’s best coach”

Is Graham Potter Sweden’s best coach?

– No. He is Scandinavia’s best coaches. He is very special and will lead the big clubs in Europe in the future. And Graham are as obsessed in our project as I am.

You continue with the cultural projects?

– Of course. It is about unleashing the creativity and initiative. We must challenge each other and create an environment where everyone automatically becomes creative.

How proud are you of Ostersund?

– It’s just my family that I is proud of. Full Jämtland is proud. We got here by going our own way. We will never compromise with it, even if we lose matches.
