Arsenal’s nightmare in the League Cup – Aftonbladet

Arsenal had a nightmare start in the League Cup meeting with Sheffield Wednesday – two heavy damage and two goals.

Something they never recovered from.

– It was a very heavy night for us, says manager Arsène Wenger.

Arsène Wenger opted to rest many of the regular start, but could probably not imagine how hard they would get it.

The nightmare started after only four minutes. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain stepped off injured and was replaced by Theo Walcott.

But there was nothing fortunate change. Just ten minutes later Walcott out with what looked like a sense in the calf.

Ismael Benn Acer replaced, but two early and involuntary changes was not anything that did not go according to plan for Arsenal.

“We could not create anything”

The home team Sheffield Wednesday took the lead 28 minutes by Ross Wallace and before the half was out Lucas had Joao made the 2-0.

At the beginning of the second half to extend Wednesday to 3-0 and Arsenal had nothing to put against.

– Congratulations to them. They were faster, sharper and more determined than we are. We could not create anything and were naïve when we defended ourselves, says Arsène Wenger according to the Daily Star.

For the ninth in the championship victory against Premier League runner-up a great sensation, and the team is now on to the quarterfinals.

– There was a very heavy night for

us, says manager Arsène Wenger according to the Daily Star.
