Abrahamsson: Failure to turn off Rahimi – Aftonbladet

The Disciplinary Committee choose to disable Daniel Rahimi.

The rigging is difficult to assess.

But when all weighed together, I think it was the wrong decision.

I have seen numerous replays of situation where Daniel Rahimi tackles John Persson. It is certainly difficult to assess the situation. No black or white.

One can certainly argue that Rahimi goes into unnecessary force – and that rigging hits the head is indisputable.

However, Persson extends until after the puck, opens up in a vulnerable position and his head is low. The four referees on the ice in Löfbergs Arena chose to free completely. They did not anyone notice the fact. Really nothing strange about it.

Reported made instead SHL Situationsrum, I assume that even a majority of the members of the reference group were along the same lines.

I was surprised but absolutely not shocked that Rahimi was reported. That said: it is difficult to assess the situation.

But the report write that “Rahimi has the chance to tackle the shaft” I think this is to show bad feeling for the game. To request that Rahimi to be able to read the situation, how Persson to act, in a fraction of a second is verging on the absurd.

Is not enough to put debt on tackling

I hate tackles to the head, and its consequences, as much as any other. But I write it again: we shall come to terms with the problems it is not enough to put all the blame on the person who tackles.

You have to see it from several different angles, which is a major focus of course should be on the which awards the rigging. But responsibility must also be paid to the person who gets tackled, how he acts, and even how adaptations in some cases irresponsibly thrown away the unprotected teammates. There’s a lot that needs to get better.

Otherwise, I see no other way than we prohibit tackles. And that is probably no.

Therefore, had acquitted by the Disciplinary Board was a step in the right direction. It had sent a further signal that a greater responsibility on the person who gets tackled. Now stayed Rahimis shutdown at a match, and it’s not whether or not minced. Feels like the disciplinary committee opted skimmed road. That the Disciplinary Board nevertheless clearly emphasizes the attack was the responsibility is a half step in the right direction.

Tackles are part of the game, ice hockey and all that is on the ice must be extremely aware that there may scold. And act accordingly.

The disciplinary board this season chooses to free a notified players are not at all unusual. Spontaneously I come in four cases: Riley Holzapfel, Almen Bibic, Emil Sylve Farm and Adam Burish have all been notified of tackles and then acquitted by the Disciplinary Committee.

Happily information

Daniel Rahimi is a player who is close to the border. That both will and he must do to be effective in their playing style. Sometimes he has definitely gone over it. At the same time this is also included for players to keep an extra eye when just such a player that Rahimi is on the ice. It’s nothing new, it has more or less always worked. However, I feel that the ability to “orient danger” has become worse. Partly because playing is so much faster, but also to respect for one’s own health has deteriorated.

Now it seems to have gone relatively well with John Persson. What I hear he’ll be ready for play already on Thursday. It’s very gratifying tasks. However, damaged or not, I do not want to record in a situation like this. It is the act itself and the intent in the first place be assessed.
