Wroclaw / Stockholm. Tomas Sivertsson get fired as head coach.

Former coach Helle Thomsen leads the team of Olympic qualifiers in two months.

After the evaluations we made after the World Cup in December, however, we have chosen to exercise the clause we had in the contract and are now looking forward toward Olympic qualifying, hopefully one OS and then the European Championship at home in December, said national team manager Lasse Tjernberg.

After the World Cup exodus scented superstar Isabelle Gulldén criticism Sivertsson she meant was passive when the game against Denmark ran away.

– We can not let it go nine goals without us changing something, said Gulldén then and was open with her missing Helle Thomsen, who shared the leadership with Sivertsson at the European Championships bronze medal.

– You need someone slapping one on the jaw sometimes, she said then.

And now it will then Helle Thomsen who step in with the mission to try to take Sweden to the Olympics.

– We are pleased to Helle can lead the team for the Olympic qualifiers. She knows the players and the players know her and it makes it easier when the qualifiers come back in March, says Lasse Tjernberg.
