Gothenburg. Joel Lundqvist, 34, has missed Frölunda recent matches.

But the captain seems to get ever closer to a comeback – and today he trained hard rehab on the ice in Frölundaborg.

Damage Mode brightens now Frolunda: Lukas Bengtsson, 21, may be back sooner than expected.

– They have gone more towards the “day to day” from having been long-term injuries, coach Roger Rönnberg.

Frolunda has been forced to cope without their captain in the last eight matches.

And it seems going in the right direction.

Rehab trained by Edlund

Joel Lundqvist trained hard with the physio Pär Edlund on Thursday morning and then stayed there and felt on the ice – certainly in the green jersey, which means he not “tacklingsbar”.

Lundqvist, whose injury situation is deemed “day by day”, stepped down before the other team kicked off the regular training.

After the game yesterday responded Lundqvist cryptically when asked if he could play Friday’s game.

– It might be difficult …

knee injuries Lukas Bengtsson’s rehab is progressing faster than Frolunda originally thought.

– It goes in the right direction, looks positive, then we will see when the (Lundqvist and Bengtsson) to be in, said coach Roger Rönnberg.
