Frölunda faced Djurgården – Helsingborgs Dagblad

It was noticeable in the first period. Djurgarden went for the full, worked hard and met Frolunda high in the course.

The home team did not seem to be ready for the tight playoff hockey.

– We started sloppily. But everyone was very charged. We have been waiting for the playoffs for more than week, says artturi lehkonen.

Frölunda’s 20-year-old Finn was the match winner for his team. He equalized to 1-1 after 1:47 of the second period on a return from Mikael Tellqvist Djurgårdens goals.

Only the goalkeeper Lasse Johansson had saved Frolunda from a greater disadvantage than 1-0 after the first period. But Lehkonens goal gave new strength.

– After that, we started to play much better and skate more, he notes himself.

The game second last minute did artturi lehkonen 4-2 in a fast attack when Frölunda (!) had a man sent off.

– My first byte in the “penalty killing” of perhaps four weeks, said the goalscorer who do not have that particular game as their specialty.

Now Frolunda forward to Friday’s meeting in Stockholm.

– it will be tough. The court is a difficult place to play, with the audience and so. But it is quite fun too! It’s a great atmosphere there, says Lehkonen with a nice smile.

– They will play us hard. We have to play quietly with the puck and find passing, he argues about how Frolunda proceed.

Djurgården coach Hans Särkijärvi saw also understood that the game changed character after Stockholm ‘superb first period.

– in the second period we started a little meager and was not in the first. The third period is unhappy. We draw on our three expulsions. It is not like this tight matches. Especially not so simple

expulsions, saying Särkijärvi critically about their own team.

Two expulsions came quickly and in a short time. Frölunda’s play five-on-three gave nothing, but the pressure on Tellqvist continued until Andrew Johnson got open goal and made 3-2 in the five-to-four.

Wednesday’s match was the only quarter-final in Scandinavium, as now gets busy in World Cup competitions in equestrian sport. Frölunda’s remaining home games are played in Frölundaborg.
