Burned lots but Sweden U21 won – Aftonbladet

Swedish U21 national team did their job away against San Marino.

But the goals set hard inside – two of the 19 completed met the right.

– It was tough, we’ll beat them here by 10-0, says Kristoffer Olsson.

There was an expected match picture when Sweden faced San Marino away in qualifying for the U21 European championships in Poland in 2017. A low defending San Marino ran and defense struggled through the match, while Sweden tried to get the holes on the host nation.

Just it went – so so.

statistics finally said: 19 trades were eight on goal.

the result was: 2-0 win.

Sweden had a lot of chances. Only IFK Gothenburg striker Gustav Engvall had a handful of chances without managing to score. Even Kristoffer Olsson had their opportunities.

– It gets frustrating. If the targets are rolling in, you can take it sluggish. It was attacking game in 90 minutes. We need to get better on the final third and creating chances, said Kristoffer Olsson afterwards to TV4.

In the Swedish team were missing, among others, Ludwig Augustinsson and Victor Lindelöf that have been tested in the A-team.

the first Swedish goal made Alexander Fransson in the first half and at the end of the second half could Häcken Samuel Gustafsson determine when he struck the winning goal after hitting the return as goalkeeper Elia Benedettini released on Samuel’s first shot.

Croatia lead the group on 15 points, Sweden, with the victory up there in second place with 13 points. The same points as Spain finished third, has. But then, Sweden has a game in hand over both Croatia and Spain.

– It looks bright in the group. Then there’s some tough matches in the fall

where it will be decided, says Samuel Gustafsson told TV4.

Head coach Håkan Ericson was satisfied with the victory and position in the group for the next match in June.

– We are in Spain with a game in hand and it’s great. And we can take the lead on the Croatia. We have left Spain in a match and Croatia in doubles encounter. The group has opened up, he said.
