Frölunda lost rysarmatch in the final minutes – Göteborgs-Posten

A hockey game always lasts at least 60 minutes.

Just in time for the playoffs has Frölunda made it a habit to ignore the first 20.

– it was our inefficiencies meant that we did not win, says Frölunda coach Roger Rönnberg.

Now it was perhaps not in the first period as the other quarter-final against Everton was settled. Certainly played the mighty Dane Oliver Lauridsen Santa Claus few months too late when he generously gave away the puck for more than five minutes – and Robin Alvarez scored for the home team. But Djurgårdens inefficiency – and Lasse Johansson’s goalkeeper game – made it really just was 1-0 for the home team at the first break.

– This was very similar to the first fifteen minutes, now as then was Djurgarden much hotter in the first period . The difference was that in the Scandinavium could exploit the positions we had later in the match, said Roger Rönnberg.

Henrik Tömmernes:

– I still think we were a little better in the first now than the last. Sure, it might be because we have had a small break off – but do not blame it. Now the endgame and devils what fun it is to be inside of it.

Before a packed Hovet Frölunda came out to the second period – and owned the Globe area. Joey Crabb forced equalizer after 24.47 and then every remaining quarter one long Frolunda Press.

– Where would we have killed the game. We had a power play, a couple of neutrals, three against one-positions … But it did not go today, says Henrik Tömmernes.

Instead, it went to a third term as recalled when the two half-weary boxers just stands and jabs little waiting. And waiting.

– I think we brought the game even there, but maybe we do not really dare. It seemed after all as if we were stronger, as if we had more strength left, says Tømmernes.

But the 17:37 in the final, when so many were prepared for sudden death, suddenly two Frolunda Players and Djurgården expelled.

– Strange. It was very strange

that we ended up in short-handed for the situation, but I need to see some replays before I can speak safely, says Roger Rönnberg.

Djurgården took the chance immediately. Daniel Brodin dotted up 2-1 with 1:11 remaining and the final winning goal came in the open bag with just four seconds left.

– It was a tight game with a lovely setting – a hell of a pressure on the stands, and a hell pressure on the judges, says Roger Rönnberg.

Henrik Tömmernes:

– Now it will be crazy fun to go home and play in the castle. It will be awesome atmosphere there, at least as good as this.
