André Myhrer won slalom closure – Express

André Myhrer batted in last World Cup slalom race with his first win of the season. After a good second grade won Myhrer in St Moritz.

– It’s wonderful to end the season like this, says Myhrer to SVT and reveals then that he will be a father again in April.

André Myhrer had the stroke position after the first run. The Swede was fourth in the very even contest.

– I’ll go for the victory, said Myhrer to SVT for the second leg.

And he certainly did.

After a somewhat slow start to the race, he was really up to speed. It was enough to get past the three riders that lay before him after the first run.

Myhrer won 14 hundredths before the season’s overall World Cup winner Marcel Hirscher.

– I really felt that I had the opportunity to do something good today, says Myhrer to SVT.

Myhrer had a tough start to the season but has really gone up in the end. He was on the podium in the last three races in the slalom Cup. First, he was second in Japan, then second again in the parallel slalom in Stockholm – and now he crowned then the season in the best way.

– There were some setbacks in the beginning. I have fought my way out. With some confidence going skiing too, he says to SVT.

Now Myhrer release focus from skiing for a while.

– I become a father for the second time in April and I’m looking forward against. I do not think so much about skiing over the next month, he said to SVT.

First victory in over three years

This was Myhrers first World Cup victory since November 11, 2012. And he struck where the World Cup next year.
