In Sweden the figures are somewhat lower. The youngest squad in 2015 had IFK Norrkoping. The team that took the championships incised 24.7 years.
– They might have youthful hunger. And they will certainly get results quickly and take abroad. But I think we also have older enthusiasm. It is not as if we sit back. We probably have more focus on the present, says John Alvbåge.
But three other top teams are at the other end of the age of the table. IFK Gothenburg Elfsborg and AIK tops namely the list. The cut in Sweden has gone up a bit in recent years and in 2015 was 26.1 years.
The oldest of the oldest squad is Hjalmar Jonsson with its 35 years. Other players that raise the cut in the squad is Adam Johansson, 33, John Alvbåge 33 and Tobias Hysen 32.
– I feel pretty damn good to be 33 years. We have a good mix with some who are not even 20, with our African friends, Paka and Engvall. Then we are the oldest – and we Ia taking, says John Alvbåge.
