Sävehofs handball ladies were headed for 100 straight games without a loss.

Skovde made sure it stayed at 95th

– It is clear it’s hard to lose but on the whole it is quite sick with 95 straight without loss, says Sävehofs Ida Ode to Sport blade.

That was the last time Sävehof lost a match against Swedish opposition.

Since then the team has played 95 straight games without losing – until today.

Skovde accounted for a huge bang in the first semi-final and won by 26-25. With less than 30 seconds left was Maja Eriksson hero, with the decisive goal, before a roaring home crowd at home in Skövde.

– It was pretty damn good to see it go in – then it was just trying to hold tight backwards. But it was a really go win, it’s great that we manage to win them over. Now we enjoy the victory, says Maja Eriksson Sports blade.



“Absolutely, absolutely wonderful”

When the final whistle sounded broke Skövde players in an incredibly cheers and tears of joy.

– It is absolutely wonderful, absolutely wonderful. We fight and do not give us, it’s so wonderful to win this kind of match, says Skovde goalkeeper Cecilia

The semifinal played in a best of three matches. Sävehof now need to win two straight at home to get to the final.

– We have a lot to take in from this match, we will not at all up to the level we can, says Ida Oden.

“Maybe it was just as good with a loss”

Ida fates have already decided to end his career after the season. That she must not end with a three-year winning streak is nothing she frets over.

– It is clear that it is hard to lose but on the whole it is quite sick with 95 straight games . Maybe it was just good to get a loss. For me it is important nonetheless that we get to the final.

Do you think any team will ever repeat this suite?

– It is a really difficult question. It’s unbelievable what we have done. But no. I think it will be difficult, says Ida node.
