New points deduction for Parma – Västerbotten Courier

Serie A last Parma suffered a new blow hard points on Thursday. Italy’s football federation decided on four further points deduction for Parma because of all financial tangles.

The club has previously received three points deduction for the same reason. In addition, the club’s former President Giampietro Manenti and CEO Pietro Leonardi six-month suspension.

In the middle of March was requested Parma bankrupt by the court, after months of financial problems. Among other things, the players have not been paid throughout the season. The club was said to have 100 million euros of debt (about 930 million) of which approximately 17 million to the tax authorities. Parma has changed hands twice during the season and had to postpone two games to staff salaries could not be paid. The club has also received

assets seized and has received grants from Association to fulfill the season.

The unexpected victory (1-0) against the top team Juventus on Saturday gave Parma a little hope for a future in the Italian top league next season despite all the problems both on and off the pitch. But Thursday’s announcement brings the Parma with 12 points, 17 up to Atalanta immediately above the relegation line with eight games left.
