Bank: Will always love Bielsa for it – Aftonbladet

KAZAN. I hate that I loved you, I loved you so much that I hate myself.

The biggest bluff Marcelo Bielsa ever stood for was to convince the world that he was not crazy.

It was the end of February, I was free when it happened, and could allow myself to let my sympathies in full, the bustle of the spirit of freedom.

Or my dislikes, if you like.

The usual description is well to say that Olympique de Marseille is a football club I harbor a great heat. The more honest description is that it is a disease, I pulled on my twenty years ago, and as I often suffer from.

It’s not particularly fun or relaxing.

Anyway, it was in February, Marseille had his nose in the wall and was about to lose his grip on a season that started just brilliant. The love affair between supporters of les virages and coach sat down at his cooler in the technical zone was still more or less complete. South Winners, Yankee Nord and all the other groupings worshiped Marcelo Bielsa, simply because he seemed just like themselves.

Liked him for 15 years

He messed with the club management, he was unreliable, and he was clinically insane. Just like them. I almost missed the with.

I have enjoyed Bielsa fifteen years. His ideological approach to football, his unconditional offensive, his total dedication. When people called him crazy, it was a mistake: his never-ending tactical briefings, his division of trainings in total football zones, his installation of surveillance towers on the training ground, his video analysis of players down to the smallest cellular level – all of that was only reasonable consequence of the modern football.

There, all the other talked about “accuracy” so sulked he just sent it in extreme action.

Marcelo Bielsa is an intellectual, he could become a politician or president or whatever anywhere, but he chose football and that is no damn hobby for him.

It is serious.

I saw his Athletic Bilbao in place, trying to hear what he muttered at the press conferences, sent His three-hour analysis of video clips to a violinist in Venezuela for her to translate them into English.

But in late February, it was not longer.

Marseille met Caen then, at home, they needed a victory so much that it hurt the whole town, and they had already secured it. 2-0 against mediocre Caen, at home, with 20 minutes left.

But Bielsa was more faithful to their principles than his club. He refused to play defense game, a physically and mentally jaded ABOUT collapsed and lost 3-2. Afterwards I sent upset sms to friends and asked what was next.

What kind of exciting coach would OM hire next? A blind? A sadomasochist? A three year old? A giraffe?

Did the club hostage

None at all, it turned out. They held it at that worshiped Marcelo Bielsa. Today delivered price tag. Bielsa has refused to sign a contract extension through the summer, he stayed at home in Argentina while his assistants started the preseason and management slussade off their Dede Ayew Swansea (he did of course goals today) and Dédé Gignac to Mexico to rescue the economy. He held the club hostage when they wanted fast transfer market to strengthen the squad.

In the evening started if the season by losing against Caen at home on the velodrome again, at the press conference afterwards explained Bielsa that he intends to leave the club.

Thanks for nothing.

Marcelo Bielsa is a coach who pulled the ultimate consequence of that football is a crazy sport, I will always love him for it, for his idealism and his dedication.

But Marcelo Bielsa’s also a crazy coach. Finally he took his cooler bag and went, and left a shock damaged teams behind.

What will become of Marseille after this? And who in the world dare open the door for Bielsa now?
