A man in his 60s died on Saturday when he participated in CykelVasan. The man fell down near the check in Oxberg.
“Vasaloppet’s own medical staff were quickly on the scene and immediately began CPR. The ambulance took the man to the Mora hospital where he later died, “says Ulf Hållmarker, race doctor responsible for medical care during Vasaloppet’s arrangements.
Death during Vasaloppet’s arrangements are rare. A total of 18 people died as a result of heart failure during one of the races.
