Ingemarsdotter on the podium – Swedish Radio

IDA INGEMARSDOTTER seems to have ticked shape perfectly in time for the Tour de Ski. The Swede was second in the women’s sprint final at the Tour de Ski started in Lenzerheide, Switzerland, on New Year’s Day.

– I have had a smooth shape all season. But today I had the last little extra that makes me come to the podium, says Ingemar Daughter of SVT Sport.

Ingemarsdotter fought his way past the Norwegian ingvild flugstad østberg in the sprint, but had to give way to Maiken Caspersen Falla, who was four tenths faster than Swedish.

Ingemarsdotter is now second in the Tour de Ski total, four tenths behind Flugstad Ostberg who was fastest in qualifying and thus got more bonus seconds. (Today’s winner Falla do not run the Tour de Ski). On Saturday, awaiting mass start of the 15 km classic style.

– I’ll go as fast as I can, but do not blow myself, says Ingemar Daughter think Therese Johaug will relax its grip on the tour this weekend.

– She will probably go like a Duracell bunny up the first slope, says Ingemar Daughter.

Johaug was knocked out in the quarterfinals and is in 15th place overall.

Stina Nilsson took the same Ingemarsdotter also to the finals, but had run out of forces and came sixth.

Charlotte Kalla and Hanna Falk, best of Swedes in qualifying, were eliminated in the quarterfinals. Cold is on the 18th place in total, just behind Johaug.

On the men’s side reached Emil Jönsson final, but where the forces took over and he was fifth.

– I was pretty tired. I wanted to save power, too, there is a three-mile tomorrow. But it felt like a good day, says Jönsson SVT Sport.

The Italian Federico Pellegrino won by Sergei Ustjugov. Tour de Ski-favorite Martin Johnsrud Sundby was fourth.
