Andersson twelfth at 1500 meters – Västerbotten Folkblad

David Andersson stopped surprising in twelfth place in the 1500 meters distance world championships in speed skating in the Russian Kolomna, south of Moscow.

Andersson , 21, was one of the worst ranking among the 20 qualifiers in the 1500 meters. He walked in pairs with kazaken Denis Kuzin and finished strong and was half a second before kazaken the goal. The goal was to go under 1:48 and the time was 1.47,91, although more than two seconds over Trollhättebons personal best, but the record was set at altitude in Salt Lake City.

Denis Juskov, Russia took the gold at the World Championships new track record, 1.44,13. The silver and bronze went to the Netherlands by Kjeld Nuis and Thomas Krol.
